What is best ball?

Best ball is a format for playing fantasy football without the requirement of ongoing team management. Best ball is a great option for people who like draft day and are less-excited about managing their team during an entire season.
How are best ball drafts opreated?
Best ball drafts are typically identical in format to standard leagues.
How are players valued differently with best ball drafts?
There are several different strategies for football best ball drafts that can be different than standard leagues. For example, given that only the best-performing players are counted each week (see below), some people prefer to focus on players with larger boom-or-bust possibilities. Also, since there are usually no roster moves allowed, durability is a major factor since, if a player gets injured during the season, you would not have a way to replace them on your roster.

For football best ball leagues, there can be additional value for stacking certain players on the same team. As an example, we can infer that if a wide receiver or tight end has a great game, the odds that the quarterback who threw the ball to them are good that the QB had a good game as well. Our draft tools can be configured to help promote team stacking if this is a strategy you'd like to employ.
How are best ball lineups determined?
Fantasy best ball leagues use a format in which the optimal lineup is automatically used for each team in the league. Teams draft as they do with standard leagues, but instead of setting a lineup each week, the best-performing players are automatically counted, while players who performed worse are automatically placed on the bench. In short, best ball leagues do not require team managers to set lineups, and their best possible lineup is automatically used.
Can I replace players on my best ball team's roster?
As noted above, most football best ball leagues do not permit roster moves once the draft is over. A few platforms/leagues do allow minimal roster changes during the season, so make sure to familiarize yourself with your league's specific rules.
